RESEALING NEW ZEALAND PROBATE IN THE UK
New Zealand is a Country recognised by the UK under the UK’s Colonial Probates Act, which means that a Grant of probate issued by the High Court in Zealand can be Resealed by the Probate Registry in the UK.
Information / documents we would require to undertake UK Resealing of New Zealand Probate
We would typically require the following documentation :-
- Original or certified ( by a Notary Public/Solicitor ) Death Certificate
- Original Grant of probate or Letters of Administration issued by the High Court in New Zealand, together with the Will, this must be sealed ( eg. carry the stamp ) by the High Court
- Confirmation of the UK assets to be collected eg. UK bank account details, share documentation etc
- Identification of the Executor or Administrator of the Estate to comply with UK ML Rules – identification must be certified by a Notary Public
